Fall weather is slowly creeping in and should be here over the next couple of days. Right now I am rejoicing however I know come February I am going to be slapping myself for wishing summer away. C’est la vie. Obviously my favorite fall fashion items are boots and booties, however my very close second is layers. And by this I mean ALL layers. This includes scarves (yes I understand it’s an accessory but it also counts as a layer too!) and this cozy plaid scarf is one that I will have on repeat from now until spring shows up.
The great thing about scarves is that they are super versatile. They go with dresses, sweaters, blouses, jackets, you name it. I decided to start by pairing this large plaid fringe scarf with just a simple t-shirt and jeans to prove that scarves can really be the statement piece in a look. And yes I know that we have only had a few days so far that this scarf would be appropriate, but I swear once the thermometer hits below 70 degrees, I will likely be wearing a scarf every day.
This scarf not only is super versatile but it’s always incredibly warm. I mean, isn’t that the real purpose of a scarf? I know I get distracted by all of the pretty prints too, but let’s be real. It’s function should be our primary concern (and I say should be because I know it’s not always mine LOL!) Right now I’m ok with wearing this scarf with a t-shirt but when it’s the middle of winter I am going to be so glad to wear this with my heaviest coat. It’s so soft and cozy. Plus a little on the larger side so I could even substitute it as a cape, wrap, or even a small blanket if need be.
This plaid scarf was sent to me, courtesy of ILYMIX, where they have a selection of equally adorable and functional scarves. This particular scarf was my first choice because I know I will get a lot of use out of it, but I am tempted to go back for more. If you are like me and are ready to purchase a ton of scarves, you can use the code 5FEET20 to receive 20% off your entire purchase (including non-scarves!)
You can also shop the rest of my look below. This particular tee was not available online but I found a similar one for you to shop!
Happy Fall y’all!
