OOTD // Off-the-Shoulder Bell Sleeve Top

Have you ever seen a trend on someone and thought, “I absolutely love this but there’s no way I can wear it”?  That’s how I felt about the whole off-the-shoulder trend that has been huge since last summer.

I would see this on other women and think they looked absolutely gorgeous but would feel discouraged because I felt as though I couldn’t pull it off. The reason I felt this way is because of my chest size. I have a fairly large bust especially for my size and anything that required me to wear anything other than a traditional underwire bra always seem to be off limits to me.

However, this spring I decided to take a chance, to try something different, and see what happened when I tried something I had ruled out for a long time. The verdict…not only am I am obsessed, I am so upset I hadn’t tried this sooner.

Obviously the primary key for me is a good strapless bra, but almost just as importance it was key for me to have confidence. Why are we our biggest critics and always telling ourselves what we can or cannot do when we never even tried it?

This top is super feminine and makes me feel pretty, regardless of my shape. I love the detail of the bell sleeves because I feel like the extra volume helps balance out the size of my chest and because the movement is super pretty. Also, while wearing this top I feel as though you don’t need a lot of accessories. I chose to just wear my new Sugarfix by Baublebar tassel earrings and aviators. I kept the rest of the look simple with a pair of white distressed skinny jeans and my favorite new Steve Madden wedges to make sure the top was the center focus.

The moral of the story is, don’t rule something out until you’ve tried it. Even then, confidence is the most imporant thing you can wear with any outfit.
