OOTD // Plaid Shearling Vest

It literally happened overnight. We went to bed one day where the high was near 90 degrees, and now we need a light jacket. The crisp air of fall is here, and I couldn’t be more excited. Don’t get me wrong I love summer! But, this now means it is time to start bringing out the new fall items that I have been storing in my closet, dreaming of the day to wear them out and about.

This faux shearling vest is the epitome of perfection for this time of year. It’s enough of a layer to keep me comfortable when the air has a little bite to it but seeing as it’s not a full jacket I am still cool enough when the afternoon temps spike. Plus, the shearling detail mixed with the plaid pattern encompasses two trends I love for the season.

I got these great grey skinnies (in petite!!!) during the #Nsale in July so I was SO EXCITED to pull them out of my closet. The color is a refreshing addition to my denim collection and it’s hard for me to find petite jeans!

Happy fall everyone! Enjoy the new season xoxo

Fall Decor Details

I love decorating my home, especially for the holidays and change in seasons. Typically, this time of year I decorate my house with super scary Halloween props. However, this year I wanted to try a little bit more sophisticated and a little less spooky! (Though I will still have SOME creepy stuff for the actual Halloween holiday.) I know I still have a lot to do, but I thought I would share some of my amazing finds that have already started transforming my home to reflect the autumn season (the best part is…most of this stuff is from TARGET! You know I’m pretty much addicted.)

OOTD // Fall Wedding

To be honest, every wedding I have ever been to has been in the summer. This isn’t a surprise considering most weddings are typically in the late spring/early summer. However, it seems to be growing more and more popular for weddings to be in the late summer/early fall and this weekend I went to my first fall wedding. What makes it a little more difficult is that evenings tend to get really chilly really fast so dressing accordingly can be a bit of a challenge.

I found this gorgeous merlot lace dress at Marshalls, and I knew it was perfect for this fall wedding because this color is one of my favorites for the season. The high neckline is sophisticated but the a-line skirt is flirty and ready to party. But again, when it gets chilly outside you don’t want to throw on a large parka and ruin your entire look so I decided to drape my leather jacket over my shoulders, giving an elegantly edgy outerwear option.

I finally wore my new Louboutins because I was waiting for a special occasion and what is a better occasion than a wedding? They helped balance the black of the jacket along with the studded box clutch I carried all evening. Besides, I felt a little extra giddy in my step knowing I had on such special shoes.

Until next time, xoxo

OOTD // This Jacket is the Bomber

Today is the first official day of fall, but I guess no one told Mother Nature because it is still hot as heck. But temperature be damned, warm weather will not keep me from looking for new pieces to add to my wardrobe for fall. So when I found this ADORABLE bomber jackets with quirky patches on it, I thought I just HAD to find a way to wear this right now!

So even though it’s still in the 80’s I thought I could pair this bomber with a great pair of shorts. I liked how the lace of these shorts contrasted the masculinity in the jacket. I also thought a great way to bridge the season is with a pair of cutout booties. They’re great because you don’t have to wear socks so you’re not sweating like crazy plus they give off a little edge and attitude that just wouldn’t work with a pair of sandals. Since this jacket is giving me such Top Gun vibes, I knew I HAD TO wear my aviators. I think Goose would be proud.

Bomber jackets are a MUST HAVE for fall but if you are like me and can’t wait until then, this outfit depicts that there are ways to wear your fall favorites right now.

My Current Obsession // Pointed Toe Flats

Yes. You read that correctly. I am actually obsessed with FLATS! Those who know me probably thought I would ever utter those words. I would never be caught dead in a pair a few years ago due to my short girl complex. But when they make flats THIS cute and need the ease of movement when dealing with a 5 month old, sometimes changes have to be made.

Now these pointed to little numbers come in so many varieties. Prints, solids, and cut outs….there are too many to choose! I especially love them with fun details like laces or buckles! They are too cute. Cute and practical? Now you KNOW why I am obsessed. Also, this time of year…it can be tricky to decide what shoes to wear. It’s getting too cool for sandals but is still too warm for boots. These are the perfect transition shoes!

I have chosen some of the most stylish pointed-toe flats I could find at Nordstrom and have provided links to shop! Which are your favorites?!
