There’s something so exciting about Memorial Day weekend. Maybe it’s because it means summer is here or because of all of the cook outs and beach trips, but for me I think my favorite thing about it is spending time with my family AND getting to break out my summer wardrobe. There always seems to be rules to fashion that circle around this time of year (the whole no white before Memorial Day is such an archaic rule…I have been wearing white jeans since March!) But with all of the excitement around summer starting, I am ready to break out my old (and new) favorite summer pieces. This cold-shoulder navy dress is the perfect piece to kick off the season (and no my cold shoulder obsession isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.) It’s super comfortable (it literally feels like a t-shirt) plus it has a patriotic feel with the stripes. This is the perfect Memorial Day dress to go to barbecues, go to the beach, or go shopping those great MDW sales!
Even though it’s the start of the summer season, someone may have forgotten to tell Connecticut that because this weekend wasn’t the warmest. It rained in the beginning but the sun did show up on Saturday and Sunday but wasn’t necessarily beach weather and I still felt like I had to bring a jacket with me just in case. Luckily, this dress looked really cute paired with a denim jacket. There’s something American about mixing red, white, and blue with a touch of denim (the red being my bold red lips of course!) I linked similar dresses below since this one isn’t available online (same thing for the handbag too.) I love this little Memorial Day dress!
