Anatomy of an OOTD // Christmas Edition

I know that Christmas has come and gone, but with all the chaos and craziness of the holidays I realized I never posted where you could get the items I wore on Christmas Eve and Christmas day! Better late than never, right?

On Christmas Eve I always tend to dress up a little more. It’s probably due to the fact that I attend mass on Christmas Eve. This year I found a GORGEOUS dark green cold-shoulder velvet dress. Nothing seemed more Christmas-y to me than a velvet green dress! It’s a little less obvious since most people tend to wear a lot of red, but yet definitely had the festive feel. I paired a pair of silver pumps to this look because I felt that black shoes made the entire outfit a little too dark. And besides, if you want to go a little over the top with a look, what better time than Christmas!

I played up the 90’s vibe I was getting from this dress (not sure why, but something about the velvet read 90’s to me) and I decided to wear a choker. I found one with a little dangle charm to add just a bit more sparkle to my outfit. Finally, I carried my new clutch as my bag for the evening because the metallic really complimented the jewel tone of the dress.

Usually I go a bit more casual on Christmas Day because it’s a more cozy and laid back day for me, but not this year. This year was my first year hosting Christmas. I had 12 people over for brunch and then had more people filtering in and out all day. It was exhausting but wonderful. And since I was hosting, I decided to dress up a bit more.

I had been seeing pleated metallic skirts all over social media. I knew I wanted to find the right one for me and to wear it on Christmas. I love gold so I paired this gold pleated skirt with a basic 3/4 length black top. Black and gold are not traditionally Christmas colors however the metallic and shine (and glitter on my shoes!) made it definitely feel appropriate for the holiday. I linked similar items to what I wore since most of them are older pieces, with exception of the skirt. I also linked Scarlett’s red Christmas dress since it is still available! I hope everyone had as wonderful of a Christmas as we did!
