I don’t cook. I attempt to however it is not my forte. I’m not the most domesticated wife and mother, though I try my best. One thing that I feel I do excel at is baking. That’s why this time of year around the holidays I am a baking fiend. It’s like my Super Bowl.
Do you have certain foods or treats that you MUST have during the holidays? That’s what these treats are. One bite and I am flashed back into the memories of past Christmases. That’s why I thought I would share with you a few of my favorite Christmas treats that are SO easy to make! (Each recipe is linked in the name.) Trust me, if I can make these..anyone can!
Peanut Butter Haystacks
These little funny looking treats are my oldest tradition when it comes to baked goods. My grandmother use to make these and I would devour them as a child, and then my mother would make them, and now I am continuing the lineage. They are a mixture of peanut butter, butterscotch, and chow mien noodles. I have also made them with chocolate too! They are crunchy and delicious!
My aunt made this recipe probably 10 years ago, so when I got it I knew I had to make it! And it’s super easy. Plus, the name does not lie…this toffee like bark is so addicting!
Pretzel M&M Hugs (Christmas Style)
When it comes to simple baking, it doesn’t get any easier than this! These little pretzel hugs are so easy, and the longest time it takes is to press the M&M’s into the Hershey Kiss. The best thing is you can make them all year round with traditional M&M’s. I have even made them with regular Kisses and the white chocolate and candy cane Kisses for the holiday and they are all amazing!
Peanut Butter Blossoms
It’s not Christmas without these cookies. There is something about the peanut butter cookie batter mixed with the Kisses and sugar that makes me go back to my childhood. They melt in my mouth while also melting my heart! I don’t have them in my main image because I haven’t made any more yet (my first batch is long gone!)
