OOTD // Sequin, Shine, and Party Time!

If you saw my post on Thursday, this outfit may look pretty familiar. I mentioned that I had two holiday parties to go to this weekend and boy did I have fun! The first one was for my husband’s job, which I went with my more casual look. However, yesterday I went to a blogger/Instagram holiday brunch hosted by the fabulous Sandra Downie of The Rustic Life. It was a great time for meeting new people, networking, and having some great Christmas fun.

I decided to go with this outfit because to me it was the prefect balance of holiday glamour and edginess. I know what you may be thinking. First off, sequins for brunch? Um, hello! Yes! Like I have said before, you can never be too sparkly during the Christmas season. It comes with the territory.

Also, you may think that if you are like me (aka vertically challenged) you may not be able to wear midi skirts for fear of cropping your leg too short. I assure you my friend, you absolutely can! It’s all about balance. You want to make sure you keep length in your legs with heels (obviously the higher the better!) I then chose a cropped sweater for underneath my jacket. Since the sweater was tucked in and the jacket hit me just at the hip, my legs still had the illusion of length.

I also added a great statement necklace (I’m so sorry it’s super old! I will link something similar below!) and fun, furry handbag to give this look the extra Christmas-y/wintery vibe. Seriously, fur accents give you a luxurious and a little extra texture to any look!

Check out my pics I took before the shindig and then a few party details at Sandra’s beautifully decorated home!
