Anatomy of an OOTD // What to Wear to a Holiday Party

It’s officially December! Time to really start shopping, decorating, and of course, celebrating! I have quite a few Christmas parties coming up (in fact, I have two this weekend!) so I thought I would share some inspiration for possible outfit choices for different types of parties. I must add that this time of year, my spending budget (at least on clothing) is very tight so all of these looks are created from items I already own, so I guarantee you can recreate versions of these looks with pieces currently in your closet! (But don’t fret, if you don’t have some of these pieces I have linked similar items that are currently out there!)

No matter what your holiday, it’s a time to celebrate!

This outfit is good for: Casual Holiday party

Keys to this look: a glittery top, ripped jeans, statement earrings, lace up heels, and a cool clutch. Focus on one really great statement piece, like this top and then dress casually. Some basic heels, one piece of jewelry, and a simple clutch are all you really need to complete this look.

This outfit is good for: Work holiday party

Keys to this look: a basic blouse, a colorful pencil skirt, and shimmering accessories. Pretty much, turn your typical work wardrobe up just a notch with a little color and then add statement accessories. A bold necklace, glittery shoes, and a metallic handbag will bring the fa la la la fabulousness to your work party.

This outfit is good for: A friend’s party

Keys to this look: A casual jacket, a cropped sweater, a sequin skirt, high heeled booties, and only a couple of statement accessories. This is the perfect look that falls somewhere in between casual and dressed up. It has a cool girl vibe and style but with a holiday twist.
