OOTD // Casual Flares

I have been wearing skinny jeans since high school and ever since then, I haven’t looked back at flares. Sure I have tried other denim styles such as boyfriend or cropped, but I always thought flared or wide leg denim was a thing of the past. Boy was I wrong.

The beauty of a flared or wide leg jean is that if you are curvy it helps balance out your shape, and if you are a little more straight up and down they help to create the illusion of curves. That’s why when I found a pair of super soft dark wash wide leg maternity jeans, I knew it was wise to invest. I mean, who’s curvier than a woman who is 7  months pregnant? Plus they are so soft and roomy (unlike skinnies) they almost feel like sweatpants.

I decided to style these jeans in a very casual manner. I balanced the wide shape of the leg with a more tailored leather jacket and T-shirt. It’s still pretty cool out so the leopard scarf  was definitely a must. My only regret is that I cannot wear heels (stupid swollen feet!) I good chunky heel would have created a longer leg line and would help the jeans not hit the ground so much (plus they would add a bit more style.) Hopefully my feet will return to their normal size! I have waaaaay too many adorable shoes to start over! And although I dressed this down, these jeans would look super cute dressed up with a blouse and blazer.

Until next time…xoxo
